Nic DiFilippo's Bio

Nic
Nic DiFilippo is a 26 year old high school History teacher that was born and raised in Central Illinois. Nic and his wife Kristen have been married for three and a half years, and have two beautiful daughters, Kara and Brianna. Nic is also the head baseball coach for his school and had also started the National Archery in Schools program four years ago.

When the bell rings, Nic's true passion comes alive. He started deer hunting when he was old
enough to tag along with dad and the guys to deer camp. He started hunting in his early teens when hunters in IL are old enough to gun hunt, and has been hooked ever since! Not long after Nic started bow hunting because he simply could not stay out of the woods waiting for gun season to come around. Nic’s bow hunting career started some-what slow, since he was basically teaching himself as he went. Nic believes the trial and errors of learning the hard way have taught him the necessary skills one can only learn on their own.

Over his hunting career, Nic had taken several nice deer, but wanted to add a new dimension to his hunts. Three years ago Nic decided to start filming his hunts; and admits this was a very humbling experience. His first time out with a camera, Nic shot over the back of a nice buck. After that first opportunity, nothing came easy. Last year Nic had his first full time camera man, his good friend Austin. They both got serious, and decided they were going to take it to the next level, and were rewarded with an unbelievable season; killing four deer on camera, including a beautiful 140” ten pointer.

This year Nic and Austin have once again raised the bar for the upcoming season. They are determined to capture Austin harvesting on a deer on camera. On-top of that, Nic has a score to settle with a 180 inch 12 pointer that he actually passed last season because of low camera light. Talk about dedication to the cause!

Todd’s Comments
Ever since meeting Nic at the 2006 Illinois deer classic, I have been excited to get Nic involved with WKP. His dedication to his career, his family, and to hunting is nothing short of impressive. I have a feeling Nic is going to do some big things this upcoming season. I’m confident Nic will capture some incredible deer on-camera, and wish him all the luck in the world on achieving both his and Austin’s goal for the season. Can you imagine what that buck will look like this year? I’m sure Nic can!
