Ed Nevar's Bio

Ed   Ed Nevar grew up a stones throw from the Wisconsin River in South-Central Wisconsin. Ed and his beautiful (and extremely understanding) wife Jennifer have two future whitetail and fishing fanatics; 5 year-old Dylan and 2-year old Jared. Ed works for a Civil Engineering firm where his motto is “Work to Live” not “Live to Work”.

From the time they could walk, Ed and his brothers Andy and Wayne followed the footsteps of their father Gus on the family
farm. Gus Nevar installed the passion of the outdoors in Ed, and since his passing in 2002, is dearly missed. Ed only hopes he can teach his sons about the outdoors, and life in-general as his father has with each of the Nevar boys. Ed killed his first whitetail in 1982 while sitting on his fathers knee on the family farm. Two years later, Ed picked up a bow, and the rest is history! Since that first deer, Ed has gone on to harvest dozens of whitetails, including some fantastic bucks along the way. Regardless of size, each whitetail Ed has harvested is special in some way.

Ed has harvested a variety of animals; including: Moose, Mule Deer, Bear, Turkey’s, and just about anything else that flies. Ed and his brother Andy have been filming their experiences in the field for nearly 15 years. Ed’s two other passions in life are shed antler hunting and musky fishing. Ed points out that there are a lot of similarities between chasing big musky’s and mature whitetails. Ed believes learning to “hunt” one makes it easier to “hunt” the other.

Todd’s Comments

Since the first time I met Ed, which was the day his brother Andy had killed a 200+ inch whitetail, I felt a brother-like connection with him. To sit down and talk to Ed, you will quickly learn that hunting goes far beyond a hobby. He has been chasing and filming big bucks for nearly as long as I’ve been alive. Ed’s sense of humor in-camp is legendary. Ed’s relationship with his brothers has become a true inspiration to both myself and all White Knuckle Productions team members as a whole. I am personally looking forward to sharing camp with Ed this upcoming season, where we’re anxiously awaiting his first on-camera kill as no-one deserves it more! Just don’t be late to pick Ed up from a hunt or you may become the hunted….
