It was following around his dad around the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains while grouse hunting as a boy with his father that got Brandon Phipps into the outdoors. Brandon’s dad had actually purchased the second ever compound bow sold in Kentucky! His father’s love for bowhunting was something that Brandon was quickly absorbing. At the age of 7 he started shooting bows and his uncle helped keep Brandon excited about the outdoors and hunting. |

At the age of 14 Brandon killed his first doe with a bow, and that was all it took for Brandon to become hooked on bowhunting. Brandon is currently a Mining Engineering student at the university Kentucky. It’s not easy for him to juggle family, School, Work, and the outdoors; but Brandon admits that it is the outdoors that keeps him from going insane!
Todd’s Comments
They say first impressions stick with you for life. In Brandon’s case, I believe this would definitely be the case! Last summer at the first ever WKP 3D shoot; Brandon was one of the most “enthusiastic” guys there. He inspired everyone there to step up to the plate and go the FULL DISTANCE in everything we do. If you are going to follow in Brandon’s lead you had better bring a bucket! |
