They have been practicing Quality Deer Management (QDM) on their farm for the past 8 years and just implemented a Co-op (Big Creek Co-op) of local land owners within a 20 mile square radius. They all practice QDM and are just beginning to see the fruits of their labor.

Tom joined the military at age 20 and have been in ever since. He has 16 years in the Army and has 2 overseas deployments with his latest in Iraq 2008-2009. He is currently an Executive Officer (XO) for a Cavalry unit in MI. Tom has 3 wonderful children that love the outdoors and have spent many hours in the field with him. Tom has a passion for hunting whitetails and practicing QDM standards. He at times finds himself having trouble prioritizing his time; but always fall back on my beliefs: Family, God and Country with Whitetails getting mixed in between all of them!

Tom was fortunate to have communicated with WKP Michigan Team member Wayne Smith and introduced to WKP and the high standards we believe in and practice when it comes to harvesting mature whitetails. Tom has also had a blast working with Wayne and starting a team from MI! They both plan on showing all avid whitetail hunters that hard work and dedication can result in harvesting mature whitetails in the great State of Michigan!

I haven’t had the chance to get to know Tommy on a personal level. What I know is that I’m thankful for his service on all our behalves. Coming from a deep-rooted military family myself, I can definitely appreciate the level of sacrifice it takes to have such strong convictions as Tommy’s. There is no doubt, Wayne and Tommy will be making me proud this coming fall!
