Ryan Eyberg's Bio

Ryan Eyberg was born and raised in the town of Rolla, MO. Unlike several other WKP team members, hunting has not always been a part of his life. Ryan’s first deer hunting experience was when he was 15. While hunting on the family farm, he popped up a berm just like Davey Crockett and took a small spike with his Dad’s 30-06, an experience he shared with his Dad and Uncle and looks back on fondly.

Several years had passed when a close friend reintroduced hunting to him. This time there was no escaping the clutches of old deer pee and dirt smelling wafers. While his hunting tactics have progressed, not much else has changed in the past years, Ryan is still chasing after that elusive “trophy buck”. He spends many a restless night waiting to fill that blank spot on his wall with a glorified thewster.

Filming whitetail and turkey started out as a hobby for Ryan only a few years ago. That was when he self-filmed his first archery tom turkey kill with a handycam. And so his love for filming and hunting grew…It was by total chance that Ryan stumbled onto WKP. He was at a local outdoor store looking for a DVD out of the ordinary when he picked up a copy of “The Grind”. After watching it, he knew that WKP was a different kind of team and something he was destined to be a part of.

A quick survey of Ryan’s family would all reach one conclusion…he is a bit of a “professional” student. He has spent most of his adult life “collecting” degrees. The most recent will be a Master’s in Nurse Anesthesia to be a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. If you are ever in the hospital at KU Med Center or rural Missouri, keep your eyes peeled for an anesthesia provider with a camouflage scrub hat on…it shouldn’t be too difficult to spot. Ryan enjoys filming and hunting, however, his wife has determined that if his livelihood depended on it they would be eating Top Ramen and PBJs. So until he lays down the new world record buck deer, Ryan will be providing anesthesia in rural Missouri.

Ryan is very fortunate to have such a loving and supportive wife Caitlin. He appreciates her understanding in that when Ryan goes in, he goes all-in! She actually purchased his first bow (something she said she would never do) without his knowledge and surprised him with it as an early birthday present. This would spawn what his wife can only describe as a sickness beyond words. Some would describe it as an obsession, or passion or freak but he would describe it as hard-core dedication.

Besides hunting and filming, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends and canoeing on the Current River.

Todd’s Comments

I met Ryan this year at the Nebraska Big Buck Classic and had a sneaking suspicion he would end up working with us in some way – shape – or form. Ryan’s just a super nice guy who just loves hunting, filming, deer; and everything in-between. This season Ryan is helping us out with filming for our team this coming fall. This is one aspect of WKP that is so important. Many of you see the hunts we film, but there is always a cameraman behind every scene. Ryan will surely have some exciting times filming with us in SE Iowa this year! Thanks again Ryan!
